How do we request a grant?

How to complete and submit a request for a grant.

Step 1: Check your project meets the Trust Funding Criteria:

  • the project is located in an impacted region or district
  • the project is community, iwi, hapū and/or marae led
  • the project is ready to action as soon as funding is received
  • proof that the project has been completed is easily provided
  • the project is not a grant to individuals.

Please note: The Trustees have agreed that they will not use the Trust funds to make grants for larger recovery and hard infrastructure projects.

Step 2: Check your project meets the Trust Funding Priority:

Small scale projects with a tangible benefit able to be quickly delivered.

Step 3: Check if your community group, iwi, hapū or marae is registered in the Department of Internal Affairs/Lottery Grants Board grants online management system (Fluxx)

If you don't have a Fluxx account

Step two: Check your project meets the Trust Funding Priority:

Step three:
Download and complete the Project Proposal template, which includes Terms and Conditions to be signed.

Please note: this process is only for non Fluxx registered community groups, iwi, hapū and marae.

Step four:
Attach your completed and signed Project Proposal to an email and send the email to info@cycloneappeal.govt.nz.

Please note: proposals received from Fluxx registered community groups, iwi, hapū and marae will be returned. They will need to submit an application through the Fluxx system.
